In the face of an increasingly uncertain future, and in response to loud, divisive voices in Europe and around the world, FRAMING GRUNEWALD is a quiet appeal for community and the unifying power of creativity. This docu-fiction film is the result of more than 20 workshops and filming sessions that took place between June and October 2024 at LebensWerkGemeinschaft gGmbH, the Brücke Museum and in Grunewald. Through a collaborative process involving the staff and carers at LebensWerkGemeinschaft and students from filmArche Berlin, a sensitive portrait of nine artists requiring assistance has been created, in which the film’s protagonists set out in search of friendship in an enchanted forest.
